During our Teen/Young Adult acting workshop, students are introduced to the HABER PHILOSOPHY so they can shift their focus away from ‘performing’ and learn to really “LIVE THE LIFE” because the goal is for them to bring their most imaginative, intuitive and present selves to their auditions. You CREATE THE LIFE of the person on the “page.”
Meet Your Instructors
Our acting classes for teens use a mix of highly trained working professional teachers, who coach and mentor our young actors. That’s why we are on the ‘go to’ list for all the major agents and managers in Los Angeles for acting schools.
Saydee Dickinson
Saydee Dickinson graduated from Chapman University’s film school with a BFA in Screen Acting and minor in Television Writing and Production. Right out of school, she booked a Series Regular Role in an Apple TV pilot opposite Jake Johnson and shortly after went on to appear in the Netflix Series From Scratch. She is in two TV shows for major streaming platforms coming out this year, Season 3 of Monster on Netflix as well as Season 3 of the Emmy Award Winning Series The Rehearsal on HBO. She can also be seen in a highly anticipated movie coming out this year called In Memoriam. She plays a supporting character opposite Comedian Marc Maron. Saydee has also built a successful career for herself in the Voice Over space. She is a Series Regular on the animated Nickelodeon Series Big Nate. She has also voice doubled for numerous celebrities, voiced video game characters on games such as Saints Row, recorded scripted podcasts for Blumhouse, and narrated Audio Books. Along the way Saydee has also booked National Commercials for Facebook and Google. She previously worked in casting at Universal and in the mailroom at Verve Literary Agency, so she has hands-on experience navigating the business side of the industry as well. Saydee is vibrant and passionate, and truly loves mentoring teens navigating the entertainment industry.
Chris Schellenger
Chris began acting as a child; appearing in plays by the age of 8 and graduated to pursuing his full-time acting career in Hollywood by age 14. He has had roles in TV, Film, and numerous commercials. Chris is a passionate teacher mentor and actor committed to the growth and development of young talent. Using the Haber Philosophy to guide his students into ‘creating the life’ of each person or character they are ‘living’. Being immersed in the industry from a young age allows Chris to see and know the business from a child’s perspective. After years of studying acting with premier acting teachers and at other various institutions, Chris finally found a fit being taught directly by Margie. “Living the life” resonated so profoundly that he dedicated himself to educating the youngest in the industry on how they too could begin to realize their dreams while maintaining the joy they have for acting; or as we call it, LIVING!
Hamish Sturgeon
Originally from the UK before joining the Margie Haber Studio Team, Hamish Sturgeon trained extensively as an actor. In theatre, film, and TV obtaining a bachelors degree in English and drama. He has appeared in well known British TV dramas including “Moving On,” “The Village,” and “Hank Zipzer” for the BBC, as well as starring in a large number of national TV commercials and short films. In 2009 he won an independent theater Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Robin in “Time and the Conways.” Since arriving in the US he has picked up roles in “Flight World War II” for Asylum Pictures and “My Crazy Ex” for Lifetime. In 2016 Hamish starred as Dan in “Closer” – a theater production that was nominated for “Best Ensemble Theater Performance”. His short film “Joan” premiered at the Athens International Film Festival in 2018. Subsequent film and TV credits include feature film “American Boogeywoman”, TV’s SWAT for CBS and Zach Snyder’s “Rebel Moon for Netflix.
Throughout his acting career, Hamish has also worked as a casting assistant and later associate – working in independent film, major prime-time drama, and national commercials. Hamish was also an acting coach for children and adults at a number of prestigious British drama institutions. Whilst working in casting and production roles he was asked to workshop the audition process for a number of agents and management companies throughout the UK.
Hamish found an immediate home with the Margie Haber Studio Team connecting on a deeper level with the transformative philosophy of “living the life”.
