Start Your Creative Journey
Over the course of eight classes in four weeks, this advanced training challenges you to trust your instincts, sharpen your craft, and expand your creative mind. Designed for experienced, working actors, this intensive focuses on nuanced material, complex characters, and the demands of real-world auditioning and on-camera work.
You’ll move beyond “performing” and into a space of fearless, intuitive creation. By using your imagination, lived experience, and the character’s history to build specific, grounded lives, you’ll bring emotional depth and spontaneity to your work – whether auditioning, self-taping, or working on set or stage.
This class pushes you out of your comfort zone and into bold, present, and connected creation. You’ll also continue to develop fluency in Margie’s Haber Phrasing™, giving you the tools to quickly break down a script and deliver truthful, connected work with little prep time.
Please note: This class is for advanced actors only. Participants must have significant professional experience in film, television, or theater. To be considered, please email your materials (resume, reel, IMDb, etc.) to [email protected], or attend a free Intro Class to audition and receive a class level placement.

Jim Nieb
Jim brings over 35 years of performance and teaching experience to the Margie Haber Studio in Los Angeles. Jim began his professional acting career in 1991 performing improv and stand-up comedy in the D.C. area.
Since then, he has done it all: clowning with the Big Apple Circus’ Clown Care Unit at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, Shakespeare in the park, fire-eating, celebrity impersonations, film, television, and dozens of commercials. He has worked with directors such as J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) and Clint Eastwood (Changeling), and has frequently appeared in comedy sketches on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Though comedy has always been one of Jim’s strengths, supported by training with ComedySportz LA and The Groundlings, his dramatic work is deeply rooted in truth and grounded in the Meisner technique, which he studied at Playhouse West from 2005 to 2010.
Teaching is a true passion for Jim. He was drawn to the Margie Haber Studio by Margie’s empowering philosophy and the studio’s supportive, actor-centered environment. Her emphasis on getting out of your head and into your body aligns perfectly with his Meisner-based approach, helping actors access more authentic and truthful performances.
