Haber Phrasing™
In this foundation (beginners) class, you are introduced to the Haber Philosophy; to create using your creative mind, rather than the technical. You’ll gain valuable experience working on-camera. In a fun safe setting, you’ll practice and develop the basic skills needed for auditioning, self taping, and “Living the Life”.

Lisa Carswell
Melanie Nicholls-King is a Canadian-American actress with Trinidadian roots, best known for her roles as Cheryl in HBO’s The Wire, Officer Noelle Williams in ABC/Global’s Rookie Blue, and Hazel LaCroix in the beloved Netflix/CBC series Anne with an E.
Her screen credits also include Orphan Black (CTV/BBC America), The Week Of with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock (Netflix), Star Trek: Discovery (CBS), Little Fires Everywhere with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington (Prime Video), Your Honor with Bryan Cranston (Showtime), Black Bird with Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser (Apple TV+), and The Gilded Age with Audra McDonald and Cynthia Nixon (HBO).
On stage, Melanie was proud to appear in Playwrights Horizons’ production of Familiar, written by Danai Gurira and directed by Tony Award-winner Rebecca Taichman, alongside a stellar ensemble including Tamara Tunie.
In the audio world, she lends her voice to Melissa Valentine’s memoir The Names of All the Flowers, Christina Sharpe’s In the Wake: On Blackness and Being, the Audie-nominated sci-fi title No Kindness Too Soon by Sylvain Neuvel, Colin Kaepernick’s Change the Game, and Alison Bechdel’s Dykes to Watch Out For.
Melanie stars in the Paramount+ feature Little Wing with Brian Cox, and in 2025, she appears in the Apple TV+ film Wildvale alongside Julianne Moore and Fiona Shaw.
